Must have good customer service skills, ability to lift 50 pounds, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Full time salaried position DOE.  Benefits after six months. THRIFT STORE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Description

PURPOSE

To oversee operations of the Thrift store as part of a team and assist in increasing Thrift store revenues to support the mission of Six Points.

Supervision

The Executive Director (Director) will directly supervise and evaluate the Thrift Store Operations Manager (Store Manager).

Thrift Store Operations:

 

  • Monitors system of operations for accepting, denying and processing donations in the Thrift Store, from receiving to display.
  • Maintains store operations by initiating, coordinating, delegating and enforcing store staff duties, customer relations and operational policies and procedures.
  • Monitors inventory in the Thrift Store and plans/coordinates rotation of merchandise for optimum sales
  • Assists with sales floor layout to ensure merchandise is displayed in an organized and aesthetically-pleasing manner.
  • Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning duties for store employees
  • Assists team in formulating pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotions; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.
  • Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
  • Oversees/assists with trash management and/or recycling efforts to maintain a safe, productive level of bags/donations in the processing area.
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Establishes good rapport with existing and other potential store customers to help determine customers merchandise needs and potential sources of merchandise to provide quality goods and service.
  • Assists with the direction/supervision of volunteers in the store, including community service workers.
  • Schedules and follows-up to ensure adequate staff coverage in the store during all open hours of operation.
  • Assists in the evaluating of store personnel to conduct annual performance appraisals
  • Oversees and assists with hiring, training, supervising and terminating Thrift Store personnel
  • Cooperates with the Director and Business Manager to provide data for annual operations budget.
    • Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
    • Assists with cleaning, maintenance and overall appearance of entire facility and grounds.
    • Attends designated staff meetings, in-services, staff development activities and other meetings as assigned by the Director and shares vocational issues with other management team members.
  • Supports the mission of Six Points through positive, productive interaction with clients and other adults with special needs or disabilities.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to environmental stewardship through store operations.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director.

 

Community Relations

  • Provides input and assists with Marketing/Communications/Advertising strategies (within budget limitations) by reviewing Thrift store sales records for optimum sales and service.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, work in a fast-paced, hectic environment and be comfortable telling merchandise donors that we can’t always accept their donations.
